Malankara Evangelical Church, Kuwait

Malankara Evangelical Church is an episcopal church that started on the 7th of April 2016 in Kuwait. Very Rev Prajeesh Mathew is the Vicar General of the church. He is not only a priest but also a good counselor by serving people in society. He is also working in a hospital as an assistant manager. We live in a modern digital era where people are struggling with all kinds of addictions. He also provides regular counselling sessions to various age groups who have been battling with severe addictions. He has been successful in counselling couples whose relations are on the brink and have reconciled them together. On various occasions and events, he has been invited as a guest to educate teens and youth regarding the harmful effects of the usage of drugs.

MEC church in Kuwait gives huge importance to charity and has always been a helping hand to those in need. Many people in Kuwait and India who are struggling financially don’t have access to food and medicines. The Church has always been at the forefront to provide necessary food and medicines for those who are in need. Some of the major charity deeds done by the church are a family who was in extreme debt where their daily living was made through running the rickshaw, but the bank seized their rickshaw due to failure in payments. Church immediately helped the family to close the payment and retain their rickshaw. Financial assistance has been given to unmarried girls who cannot afford to incur marriage expenses. During the outbreak of covid, food kits were provided to many individuals who did not have access to food. Financial assistance and medical assistance have been provided to cancer patients who cannot afford to incur the expense.

MEC church service is regularly conducted every Friday between 1:45 pm to 4:45 pm. Everyday evening prayer is held in the MEC church parsonage. Many people across the world take part in online prayer. Cottage prayer meetings are held on every Monday between 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Special prayer meetings and classes are held on every Wednesday for those who are interested in becoming evangelists and worship leaders. On the 1st week and 3rd week of every month Holy Communion is being given to all the believers. The main ordinance followed by the church is adult Baptism.
