Sunday School Camp "Good Shepherd" - 2024

Malankara Evangelical Church conducted its first official Sunday School Camp held in Kuttikkanam on 27th & 28th of May. The camp commenced with prayer from Very. Rev. Prajeesh Mathew. Students were accompanied by their parents. The Camp was blessed to have one of the most experienced teacher Ms Lalu Abraham as the chief guest who has been teaching Marthoma Sunday School students for the past 32 years. Presiding Bishop Rt. Rev. Sam Barnabas Kudilinkal & Madhya Pradesh Diocese New Bishop Rt. Rev. Joseph Chrysostom the two main senior Bishops of the church was also part of the camp and shared their experiences and the importance of following Christ in a dark world which was a real Spiritual boost for all those who were part of the camp. The two-day programme was led by Very. Rev. Prajeesh Mathew by conducting various programmes like quiz, games and action songs. The students had showcased their talents by displaying their skills like singing and dancing. The very next day students and parents were taken for an excursion to cold hilly places followed by a counselling session for students from Very Rev Prajeesh Mathew. The counselling session was based on the current challenges faced by the youth which came to be a real relief for the students on how to handle the pressure and mental distress. Students who attended the camp were presented with certificates and gifts. Individual prizes were also handed over to students for displaying their talents. Kezia Elsa Anil was selected as the best student for her outstanding performance & active participation in the Sunday School camp. During the camp, Kaseesa Ordination took place and Rev Shebin was officially ordained as the new priest by Presiding Bishop Rt. Rev. Sam Barnabas Kudilinkal . The Camp concluded with prayer and church worship followed by Holy Communion. Behind the stage, the orchestration for the entire camp was done by Convener Mridun George and assistance from Treasurer Ragil Raj , Head Master Jacob Shaji and Dr Ronel Thomes helped the camp to be a massive success.
